Private Chauffeur Tours of the UK

A startling sight confronts the first-time visitor to Waddesdon: an extravagantly turreted chateau in the French Renaissance style, sitting on a hilltop in rural Buckinghamshire. Even more unexpected are the treasures inside the house: a superlative collection of English paintings hangs beside the finest French 18th-century decorative arts, set in rooms clad in paneling from the grandest Parisian town houses." This masterpiece of English baroque design has a remarkable history stretching back a thousand years to the reign of Edward the Confessor. It has been the seat of William Peveral, Son of William the Conqueror; John, Earl of Mortaigne, who succeeded his brother Richard the Lion Heart as King of England in 1199 and later sealed the Magna Carta with the Barons of England at Runnymede; and a succession of Kings and nobility including Louis XVlll the exiled King of France who held court at the house for five years. In the 1750's Sir William Lee and later Sir George Lee resided at HARTWELL both of whom were ancestors of General Robert E Lee of American Civil War fame. Within its 90 acres of parkland 'HARTWELL HOUSE HOTEL' is now part of the National Trust in order to achieve its long term security and provide you with the opportunity to stay overnight, have afternoon tea, morning coffee or dine inside this piece of English history.

Discover Rutland – The County of Good Taste

Owning the titles of England’s smallest and most rural county, Rutland is one of the best kept secrets of the English countryside and is absolutely brimming with things to see and do not only around the two traditional Market Towns but the hive of activity around Rutland Water. In fact, the county motto is 'Multum In Parvo', which means 'Much in Little' perfectly sums up this gem hidden in the middle of the country.

“We’ve already talked about our vacation with several people and all the castles, palaces, gardens, Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, Oliver, the food, the 1000-year old pub, etc. When people ask what my favorite part of our vacation in England was, my answer is ’Mike Frye.’ That was the most fulfilling 5-day vacation I have ever had.“

Karl McEvoy, Maryland.

"I can't thank you enough for the wonderful day. We had so much fun we didn't want to let Mike go. He kept us thoroughly entertained and answered all our "touristy" questions. I made him promise to call the next time you are in the Atlanta area. Please keep in touch."

Kate and George Wilson. Minnesota.
